OctPoWriMo stands for October Poetry Writing Month. The challenge is to write 31 poems in 31 days and is an off-shoot to NaPoWriMo in April created by Morgan Dragonwillow in 2012. I do both challenges most years depending on the circumstances.
There are no real rules, just write 31 poems in 31 days. There are prompts but you don’t have to follow them. There are no set forms, no line limits, no where they need to be posted. Just write and write.
This year I’m trying to follow all the prompts set out. I don’t usually, or I don’t always but I thought I’d add a layer to the challenge this year.
So here are the links to my poems for Week One. Most are untitled as of yet. Some rhyme, there is a haiku. One was written in the middle of the night in the dark.
Day One – Untitled
Day Two – Untitled
Day Three – Sheila
Day Four – a haiku
Day Five – Untitled
Day Six – Untitled (written in the middle of the night in the dark)
Day Seven – Untitled
Let me know what you think. Feel free to join in too! It’s never too late.
