Out With 2016 And In With 2017

2016

Finally it’s 2017.

So 2016 was a hell of a year right? For me, it’s been this wonderful year punctuated with bits of horrible. I have lost two friends this year, and a lot of people I admired died, some terrible attacks and some political horrors. The world seems to become darker and more phobic.

But I also became a mum and it causes me so much joy that everything else is a dim memory on the edge of his smile. I cannot even deal with the happiness that he brings me sometimes to the point of random crying when I am happy.

Okay, so his birth was crazy and it’s not easy being a mum. Or even being me. I have too many cats and not enough money. It’s cold and I think I have a chest infection right now. But I have him and that’s all that matters. He is happy and well and everything I ever wanted out of life (which is surprising even to me).

The blog has gone well, I’m glad I started this blog separate to my Weird and Important blog, though sometimes when I think about the work involved in running two blogs and Welsh Bloggers I do think about merging the two again and crawling into a ball and sleeping.

I won’t though, I’m loving this whole parenting blog thing.

Here are a few of my favourite posts from this year, check them out:

2017

There’s a lot to come in 2017. More good than bad I’m sure. Snappy is going to be starting everything. Weaning, sleeping in his room, crawling, chasing cats. That’s just the first few months of the year! We’re taking him to America for his first birthday so we have to get him a passport, we want to get him christened, there’s more check-ups and trips and all sorts to come.

In terms of blogging I want to forge more relationships with other bloggers, really get on top of my social media and all the various other projects I’ve always got going on.

I hope 2017 is a good year for everyone. I look forward to it. How can I not with his smile greeting me every day?

Ahhh those pictures are adorable! I think it’s been a funny year for most people. It sounds like you’ve got a lot to keep you busy for 2017 – I’ve no idea how you manage to run two blogs around a baby! I struggle just to keep the one blog going! Good luck for all your goals and dreams for the coming year! x #KCACOLS

I manage it with an awesome wife and with great difficulty. Also some a lot of organisation.

I like it being busy, keeps me from getting too much into my own head.
